KEAM, which stands for Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical Entrance Examination, is a state-level entrance exam conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala for admission to various professional courses in the state of Kerala, including:
- Engineering
- Architecture
- Pharmacy
- Medical and Allied Courses
Eligibility Criteria:
- For Engineering courses:
- Must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (HSE) of Kerala or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
- Secured a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together.
- Secured a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics separately.
- For Architecture courses:
- Must have passed the HSE of Kerala or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
- Secured a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together.
- Secured a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics separately.
- Qualified in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture (CoA).
- For Pharmacy courses:
- Must have passed the HSE of Kerala or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology as compulsory subjects.
- Secured a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology taken together.
- For Medical and Allied Courses:
- Must have passed the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Exam Pattern:
- The KEAM exam is a computer-based test (CBT).
- The duration of the exam is 3 hours.
- The question paper is divided into three sections: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
- Each section has 60 questions of 1 mark each.
- There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
Important Dates:
- Application closing date: Usually in the month of April.
- Exam date: Usually in the month of May.
- Result declaration: Usually in the month of June.
