KEAM, which stands for Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical Entrance Examination, is a state-level entrance exam conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala for admission to various professional courses in the state of Kerala, including:

  • Engineering
  • Architecture
  • Pharmacy
  • Medical and Allied Courses

Eligibility Criteria:

  • For Engineering courses:
    • Must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (HSE) of Kerala or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
    • Secured a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together.
    • Secured a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics separately.
  • For Architecture courses:
    • Must have passed the HSE of Kerala or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
    • Secured a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together.
    • Secured a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics separately.
    • Qualified in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture (CoA).
  • For Pharmacy courses:
    • Must have passed the HSE of Kerala or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology as compulsory subjects.
    • Secured a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology taken together.
  • For Medical and Allied Courses:
    • Must have passed the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Exam Pattern:

  • The KEAM exam is a computer-based test (CBT).
  • The duration of the exam is 3 hours.
  • The question paper is divided into three sections: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • Each section has 60 questions of 1 mark each.
  • There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

Important Dates:

  • Application closing date: Usually in the month of April.
  • Exam date: Usually in the month of May.
  • Result declaration: Usually in the month of June.
