The Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) unlocks doors to esteemed engineering programs at VIT’s renowned campuses in Vellore, Chennai, and Amravati. Demystifying the Exam:

  • What is it? VITEEE is a computer-based, objective-type exam conducted annually by VIT for admissions to its B.Tech programs.
  • Who conducts it? VIT itself administers the exam, ensuring a well-organized and transparent selection process.
  • When is it held? Typically, the exam is held between April and May, and the application window opens a few months prior.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Nationality: Indian citizen or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholder.
  • Age: Must not exceed 23 years as of December 31st of the year of admission.
  • Educational Qualification: Must have passed the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English as mandatory subjects, securing at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved categories).

Exam Structure:

The VITEEE exam comprises three sections:

  • Mathematics/Biology (40 questions): Focuses on algebra, trigonometry, coordinate geometry, calculus, probability, statistics, and biology concepts.
  • Physics (35 questions): Covers mechanics, electricity and magnetism, optics, thermodynamics, and modern physics.
  • Chemistry (35 questions): Tests your understanding of organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, and analytical chemistry.

Each question carries 1 mark, with no negative marking. The total marks for the exam are 125.

Preparation Pointers:

  • Start Early: Begin your preparation well in advance, ideally in Class 11th, to grasp the concepts deeply.
  • Master the NCERT Textbooks: These form the foundation of your understanding. Understand the concepts thoroughly and practice solving problems from them.
